So sweet and so beautiful, our darling baby Aicha was our second daughter and sister to Kheira. Sadly she was only with us for 36 days - but every one of them was special.
During pregnancy the 23 week scan detected a cleft lip and our world fell apart. With the support of our wonderful friends and family and the cleft team at Broomfield Hospital we came to terms with the news. Unaware of other problems we sailed through the rest of the pregnancy, planning for the future with Aicha as part of our family. Kheira was so excited at the thought of becoming a big sister.
Ten days overdue, Aicha was born at King George Hospital, Goodmayes, on 17th August. She was immediately rushed off to the Special Care Baby Unit because of breathing difficulties. We were still unaware of the devastating news that was to follow.
She underwent a series of tests and 11 days later we were told that she had Edward's Syndrome (Trisomy 18). Consultants were unable to give us a definite prognosis but it was clear that she would have a short life. We lived from minute to minute, hour to hour and day to day waiting for the results of scans and further investigations.
Aicha fought to stay with us and demonstrated a great strength of character throughout her very short life. She gave great pleasure to the family and friends who were fortunate enough to meet her but died peacefully on 21st September.
Aicha was blessed to have received outstanding care and support from the staff of Jasmine ward. We are eternally grateful to each of them for ensuring she was surrounded by love and tender care each day of her life.
Our lives are much richer with the memories we have of our special baby girl.

we very much missed you at our wedding, you were very much thought oh though Kheira had Aicha bunny with her all day and she looked so beautiful in her bridesmaid dress just look Kheira, little princesses. Im sorry we missed your birthday but we thought about you, i hope you had a lovely party especially with Oliver as he is new up there so you will have to take care of him and get in to lots of trouble with him.

The sweetest Angel too
And for such a tiny little thing,
She had so much to do.
